Mathematics Lesson Study Seminar in Philippines

On July 23, 2015 Mathematics Lesson Study Seminar was held at the Faculty of Education, University of Philippines, in Quezon City. This Seminar was organized by The University of the Philippines, National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (UP-NISMED) in collaboration with CRICED, for the purpose of familiarizing and promoting lesson study to those who are concerned in education. More than 100 school teachers and teacher educators participated. After Dr. Masami Isoda, University of Tsukuba explained about lesson study, Mr. Yasuhiro Hosomizu, the former vice principal of Attached Elementary School, University of Tsukuba, showed a demonstration class of mathematics in grade 3. In the post-class discussion, participants actively asked questions and shared feedbacks for making better mathematics class.
