33 researchers from Technological Institute of the Philippines visits Cybernics Research Center and Artificial Intelligence Science Center, Host institution: CRICED
On July 4, 2024, at the request of SEAMEO INNOTECH*1, Center for Research on International Cooperation in Educational Development (CRICED) hosted 33 researchers from Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP)*2 to conduct a study tour on technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence (AI).
In the morning, Dr. Nakao Nomura, Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Taiwan, introduced University of Tsukuba, and Dr. Masami Isoda, Director of CRICED, introduced the AI and Computational Thinking Training Guidebook (published by SEAMEO STEM-ED).
Then a site visit to the Center for Cybernics Research was conducted in the afternoon, having Dr. Kenji Suzuki, Dean of the Institute of Systems and Information Engineering and the Vice Director of the Center for Cybernics Research introducing their center and their research.
After a courtesy call on Dr. Jun Ikeda, Vice President for Global Affairs, Dr. Tetsuya Sakurai, Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research (C-AIR), and Dr. Anna Bogdanova, Assistant Professor, gave an introduction about the center and its activities.
In addition to questions about individual research projects, the participants were interested in the university's rules and regulations regarding the education and research use of generative AI and the content of classes.
